MY SON WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CENTRAL AND OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNEA WHEN HE WAS 6 MONTHS OLD. HE IS NOW 31/2 YEARS OLD. HE HAS MULTIPLE HEALTH ISSUES BESIDES THE APNEA, HOWEVER. I WOULD ENCOURAGE YOU TO SPEAK WITH YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT THIS. WE HAVE A PEDIATRIC PULMONOLOGIST AT CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL WHO MONITORS SAM'S BIPAP AND WHO PERFORMS SLEEP STUDIES EVERY 4-6 MONTHS TO MONITOR HIS BIPAP NEEDS. WE HAVE SOME ISSUES WITH KEEPING THE MASK ON BUT HE DOES A GREAT JOB, I THINK. HE WEARS IT A BED TIME AND AT NAP TIME---ABOUT 14-16 HOURS PER DAY. SO YOU DON'T WORRY EXCESSIVELY (AS WE MOMS ARE PRONE TO DO), PLEASE TALK WITH YOUR DOCTOR SOON ABOUT THIS. IT COULD BE OR IT COULD NOT BE BUT AN ANSWER IS WHAT YOU NEED. KEEP US INFORMED PLEASE...
