You had the same type of set up as me, I believe it is called a "split study". That way, they determine if you have apnea, all the authorizations, etc. are in place in advance and they set the pressure while you are there. While hooked up to all the equipment, they can tell the exact pressure you need to be at to reduce the apneic events to a clinicially insignificant level, such as less than 5 per hour. Setting the pressure in this manner is what they refer to as "titration". If you change weight (gain or lose) or have other physiological problems,you may have to be retitrated at a later date.
