Tigaroo, you had what they call a "Split-night study". The first half of the night is used to diagnose that you do indeed have OSA. The second half (After they woke you up to put on the mask) is used to "Titrate" your needed pressure levels. Some doctors prefer to do these things on two seperate nights, and at twice the cost too. But, it does give a better information as they can observe you all night for both sleeping and the titration. I had the seperate studies but it was covered 100% by my insurance.
