Yes, you are correct in that sufficient treatment alleviates much of the problems associated with untreated sleep apnea. My understanding is that the study I mentioned is ongoing to find out the effects of CPAP treatment on hypertension.
It was seemingly obvious to me, but maybe not to many others that I was referring to untreated apnea. Thanks for pointing out what I failed to mention.
As to the doom and gloom, and the bright side. In many cases I refrain from posting until others have done so. And then if I see something that was not mentioned that I feel was important, I may toss in my response.
I try to answer questions with an explanation, or a reference, in many cases, so that a reader will have the opportunity to learn and be able to apply the information.
There were a lot of responses to this question, and my writing is just part of the complete answer to the question.
I don't feel that I provided doom and gloom. I think I provided a sound responce to the inquirery, which is what my goal is in answering a question.
If I had asked a question here, and someone replied with, "just use the CPAP and everything will be okay:, I would never have came back. The greatness of this forum is that if you ask a question, You will get a straight forward answer, not the B.S. that you get from the doctors, and respiratory therapists.
I will not provide rose colored glasses.
