Chapter 71 - Central Sleep Apnea...

Central Apnea CO2 "Retention" can be treated with "acetazolamide" and test have been run with 250 mg 4 times per day.

This apparently shifts (perhaps permanently) your CO2 trigger point. I should note that some of the patients then developed OSA problems, and long term success seems - on a very small sample - to be about 50% ...

Your Dr. should read the entire section on Pco2 & treatment for more information and necessary follow-up and other issues.
