What I am going to suggest may be a little confusing, so let's do it by the numbers.
1) Call a few clinics in your area and ask if it is normal to do the sleep latency test the following day, or at another time. (I have always heard it done on the following day, as like sleep overnight and that day is the sleep latency test.)
2) If you find that most in your area do the following day, then call your your previous insurance company, and see if they won't pay for it now, since they should have paid for it previously.
3) If that fails, talk to the lab and tell them it should have been done the following day, not now, and because they screwed up, your insurance won't cover it, so they should!
Michelle, as to letting the possible narcolepsy go for a year, I have no idea. But you might ask that question on the appropriate forum. Good luck.
