So your sleep doctor raised the pressure from 8 to 9 when you phoned asking what to do.

"Aha, my dear Holmes," said Dr Watson. "And how did the medical practitioner know which pressure was the correct one?'

"Doctors are doctors," said Holmes. "Why Watson, you are a doctor and you know doctors..."

"But even I, with my grandly intuitive insight, could not effect a change in pressure over the telephonic instrument..."

"True," mused Holmes, "and an increment of a mere 1 seems, shall we say, conservative."

"Conservative," spat Watson, "It seems positively Tory. Neither here nor there. Guessing, I'd say my dear Holmes. Just guessing".

And so the two friends talked and argued long into the night - of the practice of medicine and doctors and how doctors sometimes don't know what to do and how they'll do something anway.

To be continued in Aussie's next book - "The CPAP That Sucked".
