It would be best for you to contact your insurance co. and find out if DME equipment is paid at 100% or if you have what is known as a co-insurance. Some insurances pay 80%, 70% or 50% and the patient is responsible for the rest. It could be that BC/BS is willing to pay for certain products at 100% and other ones, considered more expensive or outside of what they are willing to cover at 100%, becomes partly your responsibility. Call the customer service number on your ins. card and ask how your particular plan works. Many insurance co.'s have numerous plans that work differently according to what your employer has worked out with the ins.co. I hope this helps.
