I was wondering the same thing. My RT told me the other day that his training taught that CPAP usage during a cold could cause serious upper respiratory complications and sinus problems so it should not be used for the duration of a cold or flu. Having experienced good sleep since starting CPAP, I can't imagine having to do without it for even a couple of nights let alone a week or more!! Have many people in the forum found that they have experienced negative effects during a cold or, as John said, that heated humidification actually helps to ease cold symptoms? I'd be interested in getting a consensus of opinion on this topic. Empty Nester
