Hi Cat,

Wow, I could have written your post six months ago. I have asthma also and attacks were becoming more frequent. I was also waking up in the middle of the night with my heart beating. I even had to go on Inderal for a while to get it to slow down. My family doc would not listen and just attributed my symptoms to stress. Usually, if they are panic attacks, you have them in the daytime as well. I never did. I changed docs and found one who would listen. He referred me to a pulmonologist and I had a sleep study. Bingo! I have Obstructive Sleep Apnea. I no longer have nighttime attacks of rapid heartbeat, my asthma is better, and my blood pressure is back to normal. Even if you have to change doctors, get the help you need! Good luck and keep us posted!
