You could also tape record yourself sleeping and bring it to the doctor as proof that you stop breathing and need help! If he doesn't get you in to a sleep study right away, you need to find a different doctor, perhaps an ENT or a pulmonologist. I went for 15 years knowing I had a problem and not wanting to accept it and get treatment. I feel so much better already after 6 weeks of CPAP... I can't believe I held on that long. Good Luck in getting the answers you need, and let us know how it goes. Lisa
