There is still time for cpap to take effect, however, you might want to be absolutely certain as to the proper set-up? Check that everything is connected properly, the humidifier is turned on as well as the cpap, the hoses do not leak, the mask does not leak and that you are not inadvertantly opening your mouth during the night and thus rendering the cpap virtually useless.
