Hi Joy,
Welcome to the "hose head" club. Although I am not official yet. My first sleep study was done this past Sunday. The technician that hooked me up did a great job of feeding all of the wires (something like 22) to the back of my neck. The leads were long enough that they led under my pillow (yes, MY pillow) over the edge of the mattress to the box hanging on the headboard. I found I became accustomed to the hook up pretty quickly. By the time I was ready to doze off, I didn't even know I had anything on me. You'll do fine, not to worry!
As has been said already, take stuff from home that make you comfortable. Wear your usual jammies (unless you dont normally wear jammies), dont go out and buy new ones. Sleep the way you usually sleep at home, as much as having someone watch you allows. On that subject, the camera in my room was a little dinky thing. It didn't even look like a camera. I just brushed it out of my mind and ignored it.
Keep us posted!
