Posted by Betty on April 04, 2001 at 13:26:03:Hello everyone, I finally had my 2nd sleep study done and the results showed that the pressure on my bipap did indeed need to be raised from 10/5 to 11/8. I was still having apneas at the previous pressure. Boy! an accredited sleep lab and specialist has made the difference for me (thanks Perry & everyone who suggested it).
For the last 2 nights I have done pretty well at the new setting. I still wake up at 3 or 4 in the morning, but it doesnt seem to take me as long to get back to sleep and i'm more restful after I get up and get going. I'm very optimistic that one day I'll be able to sleep all night without waking and that I won't be tired at all the next day.
One thing i've learned through all of this is that getting better can be a slow process but you will get better. I'm so much better now than when I first started out on this journey. I know one thing for sure, I'll never sleep without my bi-pap.
If it wasnt for this site and the excellent advise, I'd still be depressed, and irritable. So thanks everyone & especially Sandman.Sweet dreams everyone!
