As you know, bi-polar disorder is a serious, lifelong illness that can be managed with medications. If you are currently taking medications for this disease, I sincerely advise you to continue taking them until you get a definitive answer about treatment. Unless the doctor told you to do it, it would be a big mistake to stop the medications and assume that sleep deprivation was the issue without a definite diagnosis.

I mention this because, as you no doubt realize, some bi-polars in manic phase come to imagine that they no longer need medications. Let your doctors be your guide!
