TeleBlaster,

REM rebound is your brains way of paying off your "REM debt" If you have OSA chances are that you haven't been getting much REM sleep. I for one had NO REM sleep on my initial sleep study even though I slept for 6.5 hours. OSA patients don't get REM sleep because while your brain is extremely active your muscles are paralyzed by your brain and this leads to obstructions in your airway. When you start on CPAP your brain can now get to REM sleep without obstructing. So, now your brain can pay back the REM it hasn't had in so long. Many of us have lots of wild dreams for a while but this decreases within a short time.
