Posted by Nancy in Colorado on May 06, 2001 at 11:21:00:I am a new CPAP user and am trying to piece together what causes the daytime sneezing and runny nose I am experiencing. I used my CPAP with a heated humidifier for three nights and got the humidifier adjusted correctly. Though I was still adjusting to sleeping with the equipment, I dreamt all three nights (unusual experience) and felt fairly good the next days. Then, they brought and installed the oxygen concentrator. I did fairly well throughout the night, but the next morning started sneezing a lot and had a very runny nose. It seemed like allergies, but was better while sleeping. This continued for three more days and with nose getting red and sore, decided it was a cold even though it didn't completely feel like one. Then I went to the Yucatan for a week of vacation, taking and using only the CPAP unit. My "cold" cleared up within a day. I got home yesterday feeling great, hooked everything back up and used the CPAP, heated humidifier and oxygen concentrator last night. This morning I have been sneezing and blowing my nose like crazy. Is it possible I am allergic to oxygen?! Has anyone else experienced this?
