120 Day Report

Posted by Pappy on June 09, 2001 at 15:51:53:

Well it has been 4 mos now and here are my observations.

I am totally compliant. Can't sleep without it. Still get dry eyes, but I live with it. No more migranes... who woulda thunk it.. thank God! No more everymorning regular headaches .. thank you again God! I put a heating pad under my passive humidifier and that meets my immediate needs. I am thinking about requesting more active humidifier as I still have a few problems ocasionally drying out the schnoz. I am totally adapted to the mask(Ultra Mirage), however I hate the bloody straps (velcro demons from hell) and they cut my ears off and ..did I say I hate them? I think I will buy some of that material and make one that rides lower to avoid the sawing motion that those lower straps make under my ear lobes. I hate those straps.... Last week I put the mask on and it smelled like 100 moldy gym socks in my face... gag! It turned out the hose needed washing. I wash my mask daily, however it had been... some time.. since I washed the hose.. lordy it reeked.. So the hose gets cleaned weekly now. I have not gone to sleep at work since, or on the drive home since. I am more alert, and my memory is vastly improved.... Over all... CPAP gets an A+ I think it saved my mind, job, and life.

I hate the straps....
