JEB:

The AutoSet T responds only to snore, flow limitation, and apnea - up to 10, as you have noted. It does not respond at all to any hypopneas.

The AutoSet T was designed basically to trigger from "Flow Limitations" which are a specific distortion of a single inhale curve. Flow limitations are a better precursor for most than is snore, but not for all.

If you are not producing the needed flow limitations, then the machine falls back on snore above a pressure of 10. Basically, this machine is not working for you. I would also suspect that the other flow limitation machines, the Tranquility Auto and the 418P, will not work well for you either (although the 418P has a snore, hypopnea, apnea backup).

For those who do not have good flow limitation triggers I suggest the AutoAdjust LT, a non-flow limitation machine, and one where you can adjust the definition of hypopnea and apnes to tune the machine to you. For those who do not have good luck with the AutoAdjust I recomend a flow limtiation machine. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that any machine will work for a person and some of us go through a trial and error selection of machines as the spectrum of machines also covers fairly well the spectrum of patients. For a few, no AutoCPAP will work.

See my other posting below (Which AutoCPAP?) which is under a thread concerning the Virtuoso.
