Why did the FF mask not work, it is not a problem in the mouth is open - I sleep that way in my FF mask all the time.
However, the Mirage FF mask does have some common problems. Overtightning of the straps (the cushion needs some float to seal properely), nose leaks which can be fixed by pulling in the nose. I use an Adams Circuit shell strap, others on the site have posted a home made elastic band. Lower Mouth leaks can be fixed by carefully inserting a small 1/8" (max) sculpted wedge into the cushion joint.
Please keep in mind that most people go through several mask trials to find one that works.
There may be other problems not related to the mask. Pressure set to low, not enough humidity, machine not working right, AutoCPAP not set-up right, AutoCPAP not reading him (they all work different, and no guarantee one will work for anyone).
