I have a hook in the ceiling of my bedroom. The same kind used to hang flower pots on.

This past Valentine's day I was given a three ft. high, black gorilla, furry, with a big red rose in one hand; the other hand is tied to the hook and he just hangs there.

Around his neck is a plastic throat mask (used to add moisture to a trach) and attached to the throat mask is a piece of tubing about two ft. long just hanging down.

It is there for everyone to see and ask about and is now just commonplace. No one is surprised when they see me with all the attachments necessary to keep me apnea free.

It is a way for people to become familiar with it quickly.

Take care and go straight ahead.

Phil
