I thought the same thing. My weight increased 20lbs. during my first year on CPAP. I had to have a re-titration and my pressure bumped up from 5 to 8. I kept reading post after post of people who had found weight loss to be easier after CPAP use, so I kept waiting for the lbs. to drop off. Never happened. This past Easter I started doing weight watchers and have lost 20lbs.
to date. I have also started a modest aerobic exercise(recumbent bike) regimen. The moral of the story for me has been don't wait for miracles, (almost 2 yrs. in my case) supplement your CPAP therapy with a good diet and exercise.
