If snoring is your only problem, I believe there are some surgeries that can successfully treat it. The main point is that snoring may be just a symptom of sleep apnea, which is a much more serious problem. CPAP is a device that blows air pressure into your airway to keep your airway from collapsing at night, which is what happens in obstructive sleep apnea. This is why it is so important to be tested. If it is sleep apnea, CPAP is an option, or various surgeries (which most here agree are not very effective). CPAP is not an appropriate treatment for simple snoring (i.e., snoring with no sleep apnea).
