You can never be sure that you will stay on your side all the time.. so that will defeat the night.. when you sleep on oyur back.. and then in turn have many sleep apnea's..
they suggest putting a tennis ball in a sock.. and tie it to the back of the shirt of your PJ"S.. but if your anyone like lots of married people... what do you pin it to.. if there is no PJ"S at all.... I would feel bruised by morning trying to do something like that using a tennis ball.... doctor suggested the sock thing.. but I opted for the CPAP machine...
That was a good sleep study.. they were able to get your apnea's while oyu were in that laying on yur back position... I had the opposite problem... had my study.. and she said i slept on my side that night.. and had little apnea's..and I was not someone with sleep apnea.. enough to have it called sleep pnea.. i told her it was a mild night.. and i thought another study would prove it.. so i did the second study.. and made sure i was on my back.. for sure.. and sure enough all the apnea's etc.. showed that study.. and was severe enough for me to go on CPAP machine... I was so exhausted.. all the time and had some good days once in a while.. and those once in a while days must of been the nights I slept on my side and had little apnea's... but i slept on my back the majority of the time.. after 2 years.. of exhaustion.. i finally got diagnosed and found out what was wrong... even though it took two trips to sleep study to do it....
