Leaky Pillows

Posted by Portland Pete on June 25, 2001 at 21:19:27:

I've been using nasal pillows (medium) with CPAPman's custom headgear for over a year with no problems. For some reason, I now seem to notice an increase in leakage (from none to enough that I can hear it), especially after waking up. It also seems to take longer to get things positioned at night before going to sleep. I've made no changes in the setup, and I'm still using the same CPAP (Remstar Plus LX) with the same pressure (11 cm).
I'm wondering if the pillows are losing elasticity or somehow becoming less conforming. I'm also wondering if my nares are somehow becoming larger (!), though I don't see how that can be.
I'm just about ready to spring for a set of large pillows just to see if it helps. Do any of my fellow pillow-noses have advice?
