I had UPPP. They don't work, but I think ENT believe if they remove enough stuff (for a fee)maybe something will work. Check ASAA - www.sleepapnea.org, click publications, click on Considering Surgery for OSA. My ENT was less than honest with me, it was extremely painful, and while I was in recovery he told my wife that I could eat when ever I wanted to. That was true, except I didn't feel like swallowing any thing more than Jello for about 10 days. I suggest seeing a pulmonologist or nonENT sleep specialist for a good honest second opinion.
