Thank you to Perry and Jeff in Idaho for responding! Appointment yesterday turned out to be with the nurse practicioner rather than the doctor. She was willing to listen and consider my treatment plan suggestions, although it does seem doubtful it will be implemented. She is willing to pursue obtaining a 418P plus software but has these concerns:
1. not sure the 418P is even available for home use in this area of west central Illinois, even less sure of obtaining software for home use.
2. Questions whether auto-titrating CPAP is medically acceptable for long term treatment. She indicated a willingness for a 1-month trial with daily downloads, but sees no reason for long term use.
3. and of course there's always the insurance company.

I was appreciative of the amount of time she spent with us and her willingness to consider my request.

For the time being we're reducing the set pressure to 10cm and have an Rx for the DME to refit the mask due to facial abrasions.

Now it's a waiting game.
