Is troublshooting when things are not going well.

All it takes ia a mask leak to wreck a night. Without the software all you know is that the treatment is not working right....

Half of the AutoCPAPs have software that allows the tracking of mask leaks - very important. The others track other things that can tell you if you have certain kinds of problems (such as undiagnosed mild asthma or improperely treated asthma - some of the machines react in very predictable ways when they run into asthma).

The 418P's software is good enough that if the machine does not work for you - an experienced person can probably tell you why in most cases from a series of 12 hour graphs.

As far as availability - all they have to do is order it, anywhere in the US, and many places in the world.

There is of course no guarantee that the machine will work for you as an AutoCPAP - as none of them work for all.

I personally don't know what I would have done without the software, as it took me over a year to troubleshoot all of my problems and get the settings right.

Hope this helps.
