Sometimes the Dr does adjust the pressure if the pressure from the sleep study doesn't seem to work. It seems like the patient could be told how to change it if the Dr specifies, but I think that usually the person is expected to bring it to the supplier to have it changed.

I think that in this case, this adjustment is only for a short time until another sleep study is done.
