Your experience in the sleep lab sounds exactly like my first a year and a half ago. I slept a total of about two hours, and that was in short increments. They were unable to get any good readings. I was nervous, I heard every noise in the outer room, etc. My insurer would not pay for another study - I guess they thought 2 hours a night was sufficient. Luckily, my husband's employer changed insurance companies after the first of the year. I had another study done with sleeping pills. This time, they found I had sleep apnea very early on in the night and decided to go ahead with titration. I am now sleeping at least 8 hours a night with my trusty CPAP and beginning to feel human, again.

What I am trying to say is, don't give up. Get another study done.

I know some on this forum don't believe you can get accurate results with sleeping pills, but they seem to have worked for me. To my way of thinking, some results are better than no results! You might want to discuss this with your doctor.
