If you lower your temp setting and the rainout stops but you have problems with dryness (not from mouth breathing or leaks)you will definately need a hose sock. Also keep in mind that even if you are successful just by lowering the temp., you probably will still need a hose sock in the winter. The cooler room temps in the winter will cause the humidity in the hose to condense and create the problem again.
I have been working with my heated humidifier for a few weeks now and have found that I do best with the temp set at the highest level all the time. Quickly experienced condensation in the hose. My wife quickly made me a hose sock from some fleece material and solved the problem. I still get a little rainout in the mask but I like the warm, very moist air so much that I just have to laugh about it and dry my face off each morning.
