CPAP and camping

Posted by heatmiser on August 06, 2001 at 11:27:43:

I'm attending the Burning Man art festival in Nevada at the end of this month. I'll be camping in a tent for five days, and I'm trying to figure out how to run my CPAP machine in the middle of nowhere. I have a car and an extra car battery, and may even have access to a generator, but I'm not sure how I can rig up the CPAP. Will it drain a car battery overnight? I certainly can't leave the engine running that entire time? Any suggestions? Can a CPAP work with dry cell batteries? Thanks!
