I too suffer from apnea and restless legs. I had posted the info below on the RLS Forum back towards the end of July. During a repeat sleep study (back in June) I was informed that the apnea was under control, but that the RLS was really bad. For the mask - there is a gel cushion type bandaid (look in the foot care section of your drug store) out that I found helpful (and it doesn't cause air leaks). My Dr. had indicated when we first discussed the Trazodone that if it didn't work, Neurotin might.

I just found this site yesterday and had posted the information below in response to someone's question. I read through a lot of the postings, but I didn't see anything posted by anyone else about Trazodone. I was just wondering has anyone else tried it?

I've suffered from restless legs (and the subsequent sleepless nights) for many years. I recently had a sleep study (also have apnea, but that's controlled with CPAP) done and the neurologist suggested I try a very low (50mg) dose of Trazodone at bedtime to try to get me into a deep sleep.

Well, this stuff doesn't make me sleepy. The first night was awful. I was awake all night.
The second night I took it earlier and was still wide awake 3 hours later - lying in bed reading a book - when I suddenly realized that my LEGS WEREN'T MOVING!! I'm still waking up every morning and lying very still - just to check! I do still experience some aching, but nothing like what I was experiencing with the leg movements. I called the Dr. the next day and she indicated that she had only anticipated that the medicine would make me drowsy, not that it would stop the leg movements.

I also take Malic Acid (magnesium malate). It makes the creepy, tingling feelings in my legs go away (been using this successfully for about 4 years).

Hopefully, if it works for me, it could also help others.
