Just a suggestion: You might find more people to empathize and share surgical experiences with, on the Non-CPAP forum. Here where you posted, most participants are working to achieve success in sleeping with a nice, quiet CPAP machine on one side, and wife or husband or partner on the other, plus some have also taken a scientific, sometimes courageous attitude towards diet. To each his own.
