Jim - I just noticed where you are from. There is a major "green grocer" in the Dallas area that carries a brand of Malic Acid (that's where I originally bought my first bottle several years ago). It's much more expensive than what I found on the web, but it might be worth purchasing a small bottle there first to see if it works for you.
