I think what happened is that I had an apnea event (I think my jaw slacked back), which closed my throat, and all the air the CPAP was pushing through my nasal passages had no where to go except through my mouth. (I had three layers of micropore tape on!)
I'm going to try a make-shift ace bandage type of chin strap tonight. Possible it will hold my jaw line out, and not let it collapse backwards during deep sleep.
