If your throat/airway collapses as you say, you may need the CPAP pressure increased. The whole point of CPAP is to prevent this from happening.

If your physiology truly prevents this, my thought is that you may actually be one of the few legitimate candidates for surgery (see your doctor, I'm not a doctor).
