Dear Saint6:

My side effects did include air in my stomach...and further along the digestive tract. Still does sometimes. It's from swallowing while using the CPAP. "Swallowing what?" I can hear you say. If you're using a humidifier, perhaps it's the accumulated moisture, so try turning the heat down. In my case, my sinuses have reacted rather badly, and either were too dry or too wet. I'm sure you get the picture. Antihistamines can help, or make things worse. Saline nose sprays sometimes is beneficial. If you are just swallowing air, a chin strap might help. You might try to give yourself some time to get used to the therapy. It took about three weeks for me to adjust.

Other side effects: headaches, swelling ankles, back pain, pocketbook pain, and sinus problems. Remember that your body has been deprived of oxygen for a long time, and your internal organs need time to adjust. Also, since you are sleeping more soundly (and have a mask on your face), you may get some stiffness from not moving as much. Suspending the hose from your headboard helps to let you move more easily with the mask on.

As to your other question, pressures seem to range from about 8 to 22, so 10 isn't that high.

I'm still looking into longer term side effects.

Just remember, it will get better.

Pat
