Adjust it so it seems most comfortable to YOU. Mine are not quite parallel, but nearly so. Others have reported that theirs are "exactly" parallel. I'm sure that many have theirs less than parallel.

The point is that you may need to turn the nose piece inwards more than you originally would assume. And the other point is that it will actually GO inwards more than you might think.
