If your brother has had a sleep study, then he should get a prescription from his doctor. You will need that to get a CPAP. You will also need that so a respritory technician can set the pressure. This is all required by law. I don't think your brother's insurance can avoid paying for it, if it is in the policy. In the long run it may be worth a month of cobra, particularly if he hasn't had a sleep study at a sleep center yet.
