Possible surgery: info needed

Posted by Jeff on August 29, 2001 at 18:28:49:

Oh joy. After being ordered off c-pap for 2 weeks, then having the retest, the thought is that breathing is the main culprit. In some respects I may have to agree. Do to reactions I cannot use steroid nose sprays, and the problems are defintely allergy related.
Today I bought a $200 (CDN)hepa air cleaner for the bedroom to see if this will help. I also use a heated humidifier ( set at 7), filters, etc and even clean the masks etc

Now the question: I have an appt next week with an ear/nose doc. I know that my problems re nasal swelling are in the front area of the nostrils only, and are allergy related. Is there a procedure for widening these areas only, ideally with keeping us self-employed workers in minimal pain and a quicker return to work?
Any answers would be greatly appreciated. In the 3 + years I have been on C-pap this forum has been a fantastic source of info.
