Mirage fff and lower lip

Last night was my second night with the Mirage ff mask. I expected the usual strap and leak problems and got them; as the headgear is much too big for me--I'm working on that.

What confounds me is that during the night I woke up, at least three times, with my lower lip outside the bottom of the mask. I had secured the mask using the "headband technique" and the band was still in place this morning. When I later tried to duplicate this, I found that opening my mouth quite a bit caused my lip to slip outside the mask. I've seached through some past forums but couldn't find anything like this. Does anyone have a remedy?
