I think the other poster is about right. Some doctors will say this is not important but I don't believe that.

My studies show I get none and had lots on my first sleep test. Deep sleep is usually gotten the first part of the night.

Before my apnea took off I needed 8 hrs or I felt like I closed the bars so I think that was a sign something was not right.

If a person gets a complete copy of their sleep studies they can see what stages they slept and how long.
