Confused

Posted by Carol on August 30, 2001 at 12:40:29:

I am still confused when I try to reconcile the differences between a 'Regular' CPap machine (with a fixed pressure) and an 'Auto'. The reason being that my sleep lab technician told me that the 'Auto' would remain at the lower pressure whilst I was awake, but as soon as I fell asleep it would crank up to my 'Regular' pressure, and remain there as long as I was asleep. If this is true, then the 'Auto'is not much different than a 'Regular'with a ramp. I would like to hear a disscussion on this point before I purchase an 'Auto'
