Hello AJ, I agree with lac in Seattle. If you truely feel suicidal, call someone NOW!!! I don't know what is causing your depression, but as you have already realized, sleep apnea can be one of the causes.

Personally, I think your fortunate. Most people have a lot of difficulity getting in for sleep studies and titrations. Your sleep lab got you in for both quickly. Don't blow this out of proportion. I think its outstanding that you're at a facility and working with a doctor that are interested in getting your treatment started so soon after diagnosing apnea. Please understand that while sleep apnea can be a debilitating(sp) condition that should be taken seriously, it is not a catastrophic condition. Their quick followup is something to appreciation and not something to be anxious about.

One other thing. I don't know where you stand, but I will tell you what I believe. I believe that you (and everyone else who comes to this forum) have been brought here by God. He didn't cause you to have sleep apnea, but he did bring you to the one place I have found with people who have the experience and care about you enough to help guide you through this. He also brought you to a doctor and a sleep facility that are responding to your needs in a timely manner. So please don't go do something foolish.

As you start on your treatment, you will see that there is hope. You may have little successes at first, but they will build on one another. I hope that it will happen quickly, and I also hope that you will also feel the depression gradually disappear like it has been doing for me. I have been on cpap for over 2 years, but having recently moved and changed doctors I am just now receiving the kind of help I needed and getting the results I have hoped for. Though I still face challenges in dealing with apnea, over the past 2 months I am finally coming out of the fog and being able to do things. So hang in there. Now that you have let all of us know of your situation, you have a lot of friends here that are willing to help with advise and guidance. Go back and read through the last 2 or 3 forums and relax. By the way, 10 cm isn't too bad. I'm at 14 cm and there are others on this forum who go all the way over 20 cm.
