I cannot even begin to comprehend the damage caused by these cowards as I sit here after listening to the news almost non-stop all day. Inside I feel sadness for the families that will be directly effected by the blasts that killed their loved ones.
Another part of me wants to put on full military gear and head for the hills to kill whoever is responsible for this. I am angry as well. I seek swift and efficient justice. We need to bring these killers to their death sentence.
But the capture, prosecution, and the death penalty of such a person or persons is not enough. We need to send a strong message to them and the rest of the world, that America will not tolerate this kind of activity, especially on it's own soil.
President Bush made a significant statement tonight when he said that he will not draw any difference between the alledged perpertrator of this crime and those who harbor him. I say good for him. Any nation knowingly harboring a killer of innocent peoples should be brought to it's knees and forced to either give up the person or face "severe" military action.
Unfortunatly, this puts us in the position of having to kill innocent people. War is not pretty. Innocent people are caught in the crossfire all the time. Whether it's a war between two drug dealers shooting it out on a street corner or nations at war, innocents get killed. But we have to show the world that we are the superpower and we will fight to the death for our freedom.
Let us not sit back and say that we should try diplomacy as the only option. That is a good concept at first, but if it fails, you need to strike and to strike hard. People like the person or group alledged to have perpetrated this inhumanity do not respond to anything but violence. They live by the sword therefore, they must die by it.
