I went back and looked over your previous thread on this topic and have a few observations.

1. You have been on cpap since June and are just now having this feeling in your throat.
2. You are using a passover (unheated) humidifier.
3. You have thrown up with a lot of phlegm.
4. You used to get moisture in your mask but now you don't.
5. Your doctor didn't see anything and thinks it is acid reflux.

You haven't said anything about your pressure level. What is it?

There have been many posts on the forums about the amount of air flow causing dryness and cooling down the respiratory system. RenoTom was getting at this in his reply in the previous thread.

Your doctor thinks it is acid reflux. I'm not a doctor and I won't pretend to know all the symptoms of acid reflux, but I have had some reflux myself and it has never been caused by phlegm. I have woken up in the morning feeling nauseated by phlegm caused by dryness and allergies.

I have two suggestions (take your pick):

1. When filling your humidifier each night, use very warm water to start and try to continue heating it with a heating pad and a towel over the humidifier to hold in the heat. See if this causes any improvement. If so get a heated humidifier.
2. Don't waste time. Get your doctor to write a rx and rent a heated humidifier for a month. See if that helps.

I used to get a lot of phlegm and it would feel like I had a big swollen spot or constriction at my larynx (is this what you're describing?). The heated humidifier has virtually eliminated these symptoms and I haven't had all the drainage throughout the night anymore.

Seriously, give this a try. It might not be the solution, but I hope so.
