Funny feeling in throat/lungs on CPAP........

Posted by Philip Stocker on September 13, 2001 at 05:29:53:

I have been using my CPAP machine for OSA for about a month now. Mine uses just the nasal unit with a non-heated humdidfier which I use a heating pad under, not over to heat the H20. My pressure is set to 14 in of H20. I usually sleep all night in one position now, but have noticed that the morning and usually all day after, I will feel like there is a lump in my throat and that breathing feels a little more labored. My sinuses are horrible, and if I do not use some sort of spray in my nose before bed, I cannot not breathe through my nose. I also find my body is sort of stiff throughout the day. Is this a possible bi-product of using the CPAP? It has triggered my anxiety/depression because I don't know what is causing it and neither do my doctors, so my mind automatically goes for the worst case like I have some sort of other horrible debhilitating illness that will turn me into a vegetable. Has anyone else developed problems like mine, (swallowing, labored breathing, body stiffness/weekness)??
