You need to be aware that increasing the pressure settings will probably make your problem worse. Increasing the air flow will increase your dryness and make it harder to heat your humidifier. If they are increasing the pressure to try to overcome the "hairball" problem, I feel they are doing the wrong thing. If you need the settings increased because your current settings are not effective in treating your apnea, then this is something that will have to be dealt with.
What kind of doctor are you seeing to treat your apnea? Is he/she a sleep specialist, an ENT, GP, what?
