Actually, in infants and children with SDB, there is a marked decrease in stages 3 and 4 sleep. Human Growth Hormone is selectively secreted in greatest concentrations in stages 3 & 4 sleep. Without the deep sleep their is insufficient HGH to provide adequate growth.
